Roma boss Rudi Garcia is set to be reunited with former Lille striker Gervinho as he prepares a summer move for the flop, to replace Manchester City target Pablo Osvaldo according to the Daily Mail.

The Ivorian forward has failed to impress since his move to the Premier League in 2011, after he won Ligue 1 with Lille (whilst Garcia was in charge). He now sits behind Theo Walcott, Lukas Podolski, Olivier Giroud and even Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the pecking order at the Emirates.

Serie A side Roma are now plotting an £7million swoop for the Ivory Coast international to bring him to the Stadio Olimpico, which Garcia believes will be enough with Higuain on Arsenal’s horizon.

Arsenal hope to wrap up a deal for the Real Madrid striker this week which appears to have stalled at the moment as Arsene Wenger assesses moves for Liverpool’s Luis Suarez and Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney. Spanish giants, Real, appear to be stalling with the recent sale of Callejon to Napoli and the failure to capture long term target Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani, who signed for French champions PSG yesterday, leaving the Spaniards with just two first team strikers (Benzema and Higuain).

Meanwhile, Arsenal set to lose Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner, who previously referred to himself as the best striker in Europe. The 25 year-old has resumed talks with Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt over a potential £4million move, after taking to Liga BBVA side Malaga prior to that – despite the Spanish side having Roque Santa Cruz as their primary target.
