The Brazilian goalkeeper is set to leave QPR this summer.
Julio Cesar is set to snub Arsenal in order to move back to Italy to join Serie A runners-up Napoli, Sports Direct News reports.
Arsenal have been interested in Cesar for most of last season and are considering making a £1.5 million offer for the QPR goalkeeper, who was one of the Hoops only positives in a season that ended with relegation.
QPR are trying to trim their wage bill as they prepare for life in the Championship and hoping to offload Cesar despite his strong performances for the club last season.
Arsenal were thought to be the only team in the running for Cesar but now reports suggest that Napoli are close to agreeing a deal with QPR that would enable the Brazilian to move to Italy on a season long loan.
Personal terms haven’t been agreed yet between Cesar and Napoli but Arsenal may now have to make a move for the goalkeeper or risk losing him.
The Gunners may now make an eleventh hour bid to secure the Brazilian goalkeeper and will cover Cesar’s £2.4 million a year wage demands, whereas Napoli are only offering the goalkeeper £1.8 million a year.
