Tottenham hoping to tempt Villa with player exchange offer.
Tottenham are hoping to tempt Aston Villa into accepting a bid for Christian Benteke by offering the Midlands club their choice from four of the club’s stars according to The Sun.
Spurs are unwilling to match Villa’s £25 million valuation of Benteke but are ready to make up the difference by offering a player in exchange.
The club are ready to let at least one of Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Scott Parker, Jake Livermore and Tom Huddlestone leave as part of a deal to bring Benteke to White Hart Lane.
It is not clear how Villa will respond to the offer with the club having last week insisted they would only consider cash bids for the player.
Tottenham are desperate to bring in a new striker and have made it one of their top summer priorities.
Andre Vilas-Boas is ready to oversee a mini overhaul of the Spurs squad which is likely see all four of the offered players leave, even if it ends up being somewhere other than Villa Park.
Assou-Ekotto is reportedly being chased by Turkish side Fenerbahce while both Huddlestone and Parker have been linked with moves to Sunderland and Fulham. QPR are thought to be preparing a bid for Jake Livermore.
