Pepe- Real Madrid to Manchester City
The centre back has long been one of the most highly rated defenders in Europe and has been a rock at the back for Real Madrid during his time with Los Blancos. However, at the age of 30, it seems that the player could be leaving the Bernabeu, with Manchester City said to be very interested in the defender. New City boss Manuel Pellegrini is known to be an admirer of the Portuguese defender and feels that Pepe could form an excellent partnership with club captain Vincent Kompany.
Reports suggest that City could sign Pepe for around £20 million, which would be quite a lot for a player who is in his 30’s and is a defender. However, the Sky Blues would be signing a player with a lot of experience in the Champions League, something which would appeal to the club following their successive dismissals at that stage of the competition. Pepe may also like a new challenge and playing at City could be the next step in the career of this powerful defender.
