John Obi Mikel- Chelsea to Monaco
Mikel has been at Chelsea for many years but he has never quite managed to live up to the expectation that he created when he moved to the club. Many thought Mikel would become one of the next great defensive midfielders, in the mould of a Claude Makelele but that hasn’t gone quite to plan.
Despite Mikel starting plenty of games, the midfielder has struggled to impress at times and it seems that Jose Mourinho is ready to let the player leave the club this summer. Turkish club Galatasaray were thought to be front-runners for the midfielder but now big spending AS Monaco have entered the race and it is thought they are ready to bid £16 million for the midfielder. Monaco could offer Mikel huge wages, which Galatasaray could not, making them favourites for the midfielders signature.
