Alvaro Negredo to Manchester City
Negredo’s story has been another one that has threatened to drag out. At first he was linked with Spurs, then Atletico Madrid, and then, finally, he was prepared to stay put in Andalusia.
However, it now appears that he may be on his way to Manchester City in another surprise twist. The Premier League contenders are well known to be in the market for a striker since letting Carlos Tevez leave for Juventus last week, meaning just Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko are the side’s only experienced frontmen.
City are thought to have been encouraged to go for the Spanish international after Sevilla secured the signing of Carlos Bacca from Club Brugge earlier this week and on Friday Pellegrini spoke from South Africa of City’s intention to have a new signing all wrapped up over the weekend; “I don’t know if anything will happen before we leave South Africa, but maybe the next day we will have fresh news.”
Negredo is aslo though to be seeking a speedy resolve to his situation, and is thought to be keen on a move to a club that can offer him the chance of silverware.
