Fabio Quagliarella to Norwich City
Delia Smith must have sold quite a few cakes over the recent weeks to bring in all of the star names that Norwich have recently bought.
Ricky Van Wolfswinkel, Nathan Redmond and Martin Olsson have already joined, whilst PSV forward Ola Toivonen and Leroy Fer look set to quickly follow suit – there’s a very good chance the Norwich could have a squad capable of challenging for a Europa League spot next season.
However, the Canaries have recently lost big frontman Grant Holt to Championship side Wigan Athletic and are now eyeing up the Italian international Fabio Quagliarella as a replacement.
Juventus currently have six strikers on their books, including the 30-year-old, though his nine goals in last season’s Scudetto winning campaign aren’t thought to be enough to save him from the axe after the recent acquisition of Carlos Tevez from Manchester City.
Though he may never have been particularly prolific for the Old Lady, he does boast an impressive career record of 116 goals in 373 appearances that has spanned 14 years.
According to sources, talks over Quagliarella between the two clubs are at an advanced stage, with a fee of around £7.5m thought to have been agreed.
