Papiss Cisse is being forced to train alone by Newcastle following a row over the Magpies choice of shirt sponsor for next season, the Daily Mirror reports.

The striker reported to training with his team mates yesterday but was sent to train at the gym instead.

Cisse is a Muslim and has objected to wearing the logo of a pay day loans company on Newcastle’s training and match day shirts because of religious reasons.

The striker has offered to wear a shirt with a charity on it instead of the Wonga logo to try and defuse the situation.

However, Newcastle seem to be standing firm and have told Cisse to stay away from his team mates until the matter is resolved and when Cisse turned up for training yesterday, allegedly matters came to a head.

The situation involving Cisse has led to rumours that the striker may leave the club this summer, with teams in Russia and Germany said to be monitoring the situation.

Newcastle would certainly not want to lose Cisse, who has scored some fantastic goals during his time at the club and is a key member of Alan Pardew’s side.
