Emirates Stadium side prepare move for Lille midfielder.
Arsenal have reportedly taken an interest in Lille starlet Florian Thauvin according to Italian source CalcioMercato.
The 20 year old creative midfielder move to the Stade Metropole in January but was loaned back to former club Bastia for the completion of the 2012/13 season and impressed many with his attacking displays.
Thauvin scored ten goals last term and was a key performer in France’s Under 20 World Cup triumph where he lined up alongside new Arsenal signing Yaya Sanogo.
Though Arsene Wenger has been linked with uncharacteristic moves for established stars such as Luis Suarez, Wayne Rooney and Gonzalo Higuain a move for a young talent like Thauvin is certainly more in keeping with the Gunners boss’s youthful transfer policy.
Lille may be reticent to sell a player they are still to see in action but having done business with Arsenal in recent seasons, with Gervinho leaving the Ligue 1 side for North London, they may well consider decent offers for a player they spent £2.5m on six months ago.
