Napoli striker Edinson Cavani is in Paris today ahead of a move to complete a £55m deal to sign for Ligue 1 title holders PSG according to Eurosport.

The 26 year old Uruguayan is set to undergo a medical and will sign a five year deal to join the Parc des Princes club, a move that will seemingly lead to Swedish international Zlatan Ibrahimovic leaving the club according to Napoli’s eccentric owner Aurelio De Laurentiis who has stated;

“He (Ibrahimovic) won’t play with Cavani,” said De Laurentiis. “He’s already been promised to other horizons.”

Cavani had been trailed by a number of Europe’s ‘Elite’ but is seemingly drawn to the riches he can garner from a move to join PSG, who are now under the management of Laurent Blanc following Carlo Ancelotti’s move to take over from Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid.

Edinson Cavani finished last season as the top scorer in Serie A and has racked up a very healthy total of 104 goals in 138 appearances for Napoli since moving to the San Paolo from Palermo.

PSG have watched on as fellow big spenders AS Monaco continue to spend vast sums to improve their squad, with the likes of Radamel Falcao, James Rodriguez and Joao Moutinho moving to the principality and no doubt the Ligue 1 champions are keen to make similar big money acquisitions.
