The Red Devils have turned their attentions to Fabregas after missing out on Thiago Alcantara.
Manchester United are set to renew their interest in Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas after they failed to sign Thiago Alcantara, who choose to move to Champions League winners Bayern Munich, Sky Sports reports.
Fabregas has repeatedly stated that he wants to stay at Barcelona but United might be able to tempt the former Arsenal player back to England with the promise of first team football.
The midfielder has had a tough season at Barcelona and has failed to hold down a regular starting spot in the Spanish Champions first team.
Playing in Barcelona’s first team maybe more tough next season due to recent arrival of Neymar from Santos and with the World Cup just a year away, Fabregas can’t afford to spend many games on the bench at Barca.
United are desperate to sign a creative midfielder this summer following the retirement of Paul Scholes and the Red Devils are set to submit a £35 million offer to Barcelona for Fabregas.
Arsenal are reportedly interested in bringing Fabregas back to the Emirates and they have first refusal on the midfielder should Barca decide to sell the Spaniard.
The £35 million offer from United could be tempting for Barca, as they recently spent £48 million on Neymar and still want to sign a quality centre back before the new season.
