Dutch club Feyenoord are reportedly looking to sign Arsenal midfielder Ryo Miyaichi this summer, according to Sky Sports.

The 20-year-old has failed to establish himself in the Gunners starting line up ever since breaking through into the first team in 2010, making just two League Cup appearances during that time.

He has, instead, spent three separate loan spells away from the Emirates with Wigan Athletic, Bolton Wanderers and Feyenoord.

His loan spell with the Latics last season was cut short thanks to a damaged ankle ligament that saw him miss the rest of the campaign on the sidelines.

However, his time with the Dutch side was somewhat more productive and in 12 games with the Rotterdam club he managed to notch up three goals and five assists, earning him the nickname “Ryodinho” after Brazilian superstar, Ronaldinho.

Now that one-cap Japanese international is set to be back fit in time for the beginning next season, Feyenoord boss Ronald Koeman confirmed he is keen on bringing the player back to the De Kuip Stadium.

“It’s right we are also working on Ryo Miyaichi, but at the moment it’s not clear what the situation is,” he told NuSport.

“After that, we can make a step. It’s not that far yet.”
