AS Roma and Olympique Lyonnais are set to go head to head this summer for the signature of unwanted Arsenal forward Gervinho, although the Ligue 1 giants are said to be prepared to offer the Gunners front man Yoann Gourcuff in part exchange for the Ivorian, reports the Daily Mail.

The Ivory Coast international has been told by Gunners head coach Arsene Wenger that he is no longer part of his first-team plans going forward in north London and can therefore leave the Emirates now that the summer transfer window has reopened.

The 26-year-old, who has only been in the capital for the past two seasons, has not even travelled with the rest of the Arsenal squad on their pre-season tour of the Far East, which they set off on last week, in order to push through his exit from the club.

And now Serie A outfit Roma have tabled a bid of £6.9 million for the centre forward, who has registered just 11 goals and 13 assists in his 63 matches for Arsenal since arriving from Lille for £10.8m in July 2011.

However, with Lyon also offering France international Gourcuff as part of any possible deal for Gervinho, a forward with 29 France caps to his name, Wenger and the club now have a tough choice to make about who to sell to.
