Arsenal striker Oliver Giroud hopes that the club sign Liverpool striker Luis Suarez this summer as he believes that he could form a devastating striker partnership with the Uruguay international, Goal.com reports.

Reports suggest that Liverpool have already rejected a £35 million offer from Arsenal for Suarez with the Reds stating that they will only consider selling the striker if a bid of £40 million was tabled by the Gunners.

Arsenal have become frustrated in their move for Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain and with Rooney preferring to move to Chelsea, Suarez has become the Gunners main transfer target.

Giroud would welcome the arrival of Suarez at the Emirates and believes that the two could strike up a good partnership together on the pitch.

He told L’Equipe: “Luis Suarez is someone with whom I could have a good feeling with on the pitch, so I am for his arrival. I’m not afraid of competition.”

It is understood that Real Madrid are Arsenal’s main rivals for Suarez, with reports suggesting that the Spanish giants will table a bid for the Uruguayan in the coming days.

Madrid were hoping to wait until nearer the end of the transfer window before making a move for Suarez but have been forced to consider an early bid due Arsenal’s interest.
