Global superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has made his move back to England even more unlikely now that he has put his Cheshire home up for sale according to The Sun.

Ronaldo owns a five-bedroom house in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, that has now been put up for sale for £3.75million.

“United fans always though Ronaldo had kept his house because he might one day return. But by putting it on the market, it does suggest there’s no truth in the rumours,” The Sun’s source claimed.

The Portuguese winger has been heavily linked with a move back to Manchester, as Real Madrid fans appear to have fallen out of love with the world’s greatest.

The Red Devils were favourites to resign their former winger Cristiano, but big spenders, and bitter rivals, Manchester City have submitted an offer to the Spanish side for the 28 year-old.

Even French big spenders AS Monaco and Paris Saint Germain are linked with the attacking sensation. PSG’s president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, told reports it would be a ‘dream’ to sign Ronaldo.

But he did go on to add : “I have a very good relationship with Florentino. If I want my dream of signing Cristiano to be met, I’ll call [Perez].”

Remarkably, with the never ending Wayne Rooney saga, The Guardian went with a different article about Manchester United today. They claimed Ed Woodward wants to prevent the impression that the club is falling apart without Sir Alex Ferguson, and that the Premier League champions would move for Bale, Fabregas, Modric and Ronaldo – a ridiculous story in my opinion.
