Manchester City have finally completed the long-awaited signing of prolific Sevilla front man Alvaro Negredo, according to reports in the Daily Mail.

The Spain international has now agreed personal terms with the big-spending Premier League club and will put pen to paper on a four-year contract worth £75,000 per week on Thursday, before then undergoing a medical in the north west later that day.

However, contrary to what his former employers have claimed about the transfer fee, which the Liga outfit said was valued at an initial £21.5 million, potentially rising to a figure of £24.5m depending on add ons, City say that the final sums are actually lower than that.

According to sources at Eastlands, the Blues have in paid Sevilla an initial amount of £16.4m up front for the 27-year-old, with the possibility of a further £4.2m to be added on depending on how well the team fare while Negredo is at the club.

For instance, were Manuel Pellegrini’s side to win the Uefa Champions League during the Spaniard’s four years at City, then Sevilla would gain an extra £850,000.

Negredo arrives at City having scored an impressive 85 goals in his 180 matches for Sevilla since the summer of 2009.
