Real Madrid are set to offer Manchester City a huge bid in exchange for striker Sergio Aguero, the Metro reports.

City are set to complete the signing of Alvaro Negredo within the next few days and are also close to completing a deal for Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic, who could cost them around £27 million.

This means Aguero may face the prospect of moving down City’s pecking order under Manuel Pellegrini.

This would not please Aguero and sources in Spain suggest that Real Madrid are set to jump on the strikers unhappiness by submitting a huge bid to City.

Aguero has been a key player for City during his time at the Eithad, scoring 47 goals in all competitions since he made his move from Atletico Madrid to City for £38 million.

The Sky Blues are unlikely to want to let go of one of their must talented players but with the club set to spend over £100 million this transfer window, City officials may consider Real’s bid if it meets with their valuation of the striker.

City only have two strikers available at the moment following the departure of Carlos Tevez to Juventus but that problem will be eased in the coming days with the arrival of Negredo.
