Chelsea goalkeeper warns rivals they cannot buy back the title.
Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has sent a warning to the club’s rivals at Manchester City according to Goal.com.
City lost their Premier League crown last season after seeing their city rivals Manchester United comfortably beat them to the trophy.
There have been noises from City officials acknowledging that there is a feeling at the club that it was a mistake not to invest more in new players last summer.
That has not been repeated this year with the club having been linked to a number of high profile names.
The club have already signed Jesus Navas, Fernandinho and Alvaro Negredo and continue to be linked with a number of top stars.
But Cech has warned City that winning back the title is not simply a matter of splashing the cash.
Cech acknowledged that City have built a strong team going in to the final few weeks of pre-season but insisted that every point will have to be hard-won if the club are going to finish higher than the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal Tottenham and Liverpool.
Cech revealed that Chelsea will also be hoping to win the title this season, suggesting that the club have already regained their confidence following the return of Jose Mourinho.
