Hull City manager Steve Bruce has admitted he would be interested in signing Stoke midfielder Wilson Palacios if the Hondurian was made available as he looks to strengthen his side ahead of the new season according to The Daily Mirror.

The 28-year-old, who joined the Potters in a £8m deal two years ago, could leave the Brittania Stadium this summer after making just four appearances for the midlands side last term.

Bruce has revealed that he wants to bring him to the East Yorkshire after previously working with the player twice before, having signed him on-loan at Birmingham City and then again on a permanent basis at Wigan Atletic.

“We’re not sure if Stoke are willing to let him go, but if he did become available we would be interested of course,” said the former Sunderland manager.

“We have to wait to see if Stoke say he is surplus to their requirements, but he’s a player I’ve worked with before and like.

The Tigers are also close to completing a deal to fetch French Yannick Sagbo to the KC Stadium in a £1.6m transfer from Evian. The 25-year-old Ivorian hit six goals for the Ligue 1 team last term.

“We’re in conversations,” added Bruce. “My chief executive is speaking with Evian and we’re hopeful that we can get something done because he would be a good addition.
“He’s a little bit different to what we’ve got. He’s quick, he’s direct and he wants to run in behind.

“It’s hard talking about a player who belongs to another club but there has been dialogue and we’ll see where it takes us. We’ll be patient and see what develops”
