Young Chelsea defender Nathaniel Chalobah has stated his desire to join a fellow Premier League team on loan this season, Sky Sports reports.

The 18-year-old spent last season on loan with Championship side Watford, where he impressed by making 42 appearances on their march to the playoff final in May.

He has already been told by boss Jose Mourinho that his name is on a list that will be made available for a short term move away from the club this summer and he is now hoping that he will get to test himself at the highest level by linking up with another Premier League side.

Mourinho is said to be a big fan of the England under-21 international’s and though he has included him in the squad for the pre season tour, he still wants him to find another team on a loan agreement to gain some much needed experience that he would not be able to get as frequently at Stamford Bridge.

“He (Mourinho) has already told me he likes me and he likes what I’m doing, but he reckons another year out is probably the best decision. A loan is probably the best move at the moment,” Chalobah said.

“Chelsea’s where I want to be. It’s probably best to play around the same level, in the same league.

“The Premier League is probably where I’ll be looking to go this year.

“It’s up to me and up to the club to find a place for me where I can get a chance to play, because I don’t want to go to another Premier League team and sit on the bench.”
