Paris Saint Germain coach Laurent Blanc has confirmed that out of favour striker Kevin Gameiro is set to join La Liga side Sevilla in the next couple of days, Sky Sports reports.

The arrival of big signing Edinson Cavani at the club last week has seemingly called time on the 26-year-old’s time in the French capital, especially seeing as he struggled to hold down a regular first team spot with the side last season too.

Liverpool had been linked with a move for the French international, but it is apparently Sevilla who have won the race to land his signature. The Andalusian side are looking to bolster their own attacking options after allowing top scorer Alvaro Negredo to join Manchester City last Friday in  a £24 million deal.

I have appreciated this player for a long time, but it is his choice to leave and that choice seems to be compatible with the club’s choice,” Blanc told French newspaper L’Equipe.

“A new adventure should start for him in Sevilla, if his transfer will be finalised.”

Gameiro joined the side from the capital in 2011 from Lorient, who have a noted excellent reputation in producing young players. He cost PSG €11 million and went on to bag 23 goals in 78 appearances during his time with the club.

He is said to be joining Sevilla for a fee somewhere in the region of €10 million.
