Sevila have completed the signing of PSG striker Kevin Gameiro for £8.8 million, Goal.com reports.

The striker has signed a five year deal with the Spanish club and will look to establish himself in Sevilla’s starting eleven.

Sevilla announced the signing in a statement on their official website.

“Kevin Gameiro, the French striker, has become the newest member of Sevilla after passing a medical examination and signing his new contract, which will link him to los Nervionenses for the next five seasons”.

“The striker, who will have a buyout clause of €40m (£34.5m), landed in Seville on Tuesday from Sweden, where he had been based with his former club Paris Saint-Germain”.

Gameiro had been heavily linked with a move away from Paris St Germain ever since the French Champions signed Edinson Cavani from Napoli for £55 million.

The arrival of the Uruguay international pushed Gameiro further down the pecking at the Parc des Princes due Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s presence at the French club.

The striker only started seven games for PSG last season and reports suggest that he was incredibility frustrated during his time with the French club.

Getting first team opportunities shouldn’t be a problem at Sevilla, with the club seeing Gameiro as an ideal replacement for Alvaro Negredo, who joined Premier League runners-up Manchester City earlier in the month.

However, replacing Negredo will be difficult for Gameiro, with the Spaniard having scored 31 goals for Sevilla last season.
