Brazilian club Internacional have warned any potential suitors of star man Leandro Damiao that they will have to pay handsomely if they want to stand any chance of signing him, Sky Sports reports.

Tottenham Hotspur and Italian side Napoli have been heavily linked with a move for the 24-year-old this summer whilst Southampton have also shown an interest, which now seems to have cooled off.

However, Internacional have stated that they would be willing to let him go if the right offer came along. They have already told Napoli that their offer of €18million (£15m) would not even be considered whilst stressing that the player’s valuation would only increase after next summer’s World Cup.

Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg are the latest club to show a reported interest, though they will likely find it just as hard to prize him away from his home in Brazil.

Internacional’s director of football Marcelo Medeiros told Zero Hora: “He is focusing on Internacional.

“If anyone wants to sign him, it would be a great deal, but they will have to pay a lot.

“He is still an Internacional player.”

Leandro Damiao has spent his entire career so far with Internacional, playing 147 times and scoring 82 goals.
