Brendon Santalab returns to Australia with Western Sydney Wanderers

Well travelled striker comes back to the Parramatta 

Tony Popovic has brought striker Brendon Santalab back to Sydney for the fourth time in his career.

The 30-year-old  having played for  had stints at Sydney FC, Sydney United and Sydney and North Queensland.

Santalab has spent the last four years in China with Chengdu Blades and then Chongqing Lifan, the veteran has had spells in both Belguim and Hungry and played in the S-League for Geylang United scoring 22 goals in 23 games.

Speaking to Sportal Santalab expressed his delight  about returning to Australia,: ” i’m really excited to be back in Sydney with the opportunity to join the Wanderers.

I played with Popa (Popovic) at Sydney FC and know the standard he sets so it will be great to be part of that as a player. I’ve also heard a lot about the amazing atmosphere at Wanderland and can’t wait to play in front of the fans.”

Wanderers are in only their second season of existence and Coach Tony Popovic, who built the side from scratch in only half a year, hopes Santalab will bring some much needed experience to the club.

“I’m pleased that Brendon has joined us at the Wanderers, he is a real asset to our squad and brings great versatility. Brendon can play anywhere across the front line and will give us more options and depth on the field.”
