Aloisi likes what he sees from Aussie winger

Winger Harry Kewell made his first start for Melbourne Heart in a 12-0 Friendly win.

Kewell, who has only played 3 competitive games since 2012, came on as a substitute against La Trobe University XI,

Coach John Aloisi was pleased with the ex Liverpool mans debut for the Red and White.

Speaking to Goal Australia, he said: ” I thought it was quite good for his first game for a while,he combined well with a few of the players around him. Now it’s just [a case of] players getting used to his style of play.

Aloisi also plans to improve his star man’s fitness and stamina with a rigorous pre-season programme:

“His fitness is going to improve. He’s feeling heavy because we’re working him very hard. His match rhythm will come because we’re playing more games – we’ve got a lot of friendly games to come up now – and Harry will play in most of them, if not all of them.”

This is Kewell’s second stint in the A-League, last year he ran out for rivals Melbourne Victory, scoring 8 goals in 25 games.

The very first A-League match he will face in the red and white will be against his old club in the Melbourne Derby on October 12th.
