Premier League rivals Fulham and West Bromwich Albion are set to go head to head this summer in the race for Paris Saint-Germain midfield player Clement Chantome, according to reports in The Times.

The highly rated young France international has been at the Parc des Princes throughout his whole career to date, having originally begun his career with the Parisians’ youth side before being promoted to the first team for the start of the 2006/07 season.

And in the intervening seven-year period, the 25-year-old has gone on to register eight goals and one assist in his 210 matches overall in all competitions for the Ligue 1 giants, including managing to find the back of the net on five occasions in his 162 league outings for the club.

Chantome’s form for the French champions has been so impressive of late that he was even called up by les Bleus national team manager Didier Deschamps to make his France debut  in a friendly against Japan last October.

And now it appears as though top-flight duo West Brom and Fulham are both keen on signing the central midfield player, who has a contract in the French capital that runs until June 30 2015, for next season.
