Argentine winger hoping to remain in the Spanish capital.
Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria has claimed that he is enjoying life with the Spanish side and is keen to remain at the club for the upcoming season according to Spanish newspaper Marca.
Di Maria has been linked with a move to Tottenham, potentially as part of a deal involving Gareth Bale.
Real Madrid are thought to be strongly interested in bringing Bale to La Liga, but are reluctant to meet the Premier League club’s asking price.
One way in which the two clubs could make up the shortfall is by a potential player exchange.
Spurs would are likely to be keen on including Di Maria as it would provide them with a ready-made replacement for Bale, allowing them the freedom to invest the remainder of the transfer fee on improving other parts of the squad.
But it is thought that Di Maria is reluctant to make the move as Spurs have failed to qualify for this season’s Champions League tournament.
With one eye on the World Cup finals next summer, Di Maria is keen to ensure that is playing at the highest level possible.
Di Maria insisted that he had three years remaining on his current deal and was very happy to stay at the Bernabeu.
