Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has declared himself fighting fit ahead of the new season kick off this weekend and has shrugged off any injury concerns after he missed the majority of the club’s pre season campaign with an Achilles problem, the Daily Mail reports.

However, the England midfielder made his return to action last week in the friendly with Spanish giants Real Madrid in Miami before confirming his arrival back into the first team with a patented long rage strike in the victory over Roma in Washington DC on Sunday.

The 35-year-old managed just a grand total of 90 minutes of football in the three months since the previous season ended, but he has insisted that he is fit a ready to make a contribution.

“There is no pain with the injury any more, I am feeling good,” he said.”I like to think I am a pretty fit bloke and will be ready for Hull.”

Lampard had to fight hard last term in order to earn an added one year extension at Stamford Bridge after it looked as though he could have finally been on his way out.

His 15 goals in the league last term saw him surpass Bobby Tambling to become the highest ever goalscorer at the club.
