(Video) Federico Higuain Scores the Goal of the Round Against New York Red Bulls

The Argentine striker’s brace helped struggling Crew upset the Eastern Conference leaders.

Whilst Gonzalo Higuain may be making the headlines in Europe following his big-money move to SSC Napoli from Real Madrid, his brother was hard at work in Columbus.

The forward’s two goals proved the difference as the Crew secured just their seventh win of the season to upset Eastern Conference leaders New York Red Bulls.

Thierry Henry proved a bigger miss than RBNY fans may have feared as his stand-in Peguy Luyindula and the rest of the Red Bulls could only muster two shots on target against the team with the joint-worst goal difference in the Conference.

Higuain’s second goal was a thing of beauty. After NYRB midfielder Andre Akpan lost possession, Crew Home Grown Player Wil Trapp played a precise through ball to release Higuain out on the right wing. From there on it was all on the Argentine, as he raced ahead of a slack New York defence before lobbing an unsuspecting Luis Robles to seal the game for the Crew.
