Southampton are ready to pull out all the stops as they look to sign Roma’s Pablo Osvaldo according to The Daily Star.

The club are ready to launch an ambitious attempt to sign the international midfielder as they look to bring in a high profile signing before the start of the Premier League season.

The Saints are ready to make a bid of £8 million in the hopes of persuading Roma to part ways with the Italian international striker.

The club have seen an earlier bid rejected but are more optimistic about the improved offer.

But Southampton will have to up their game in all areas as Osvaldo was reportedly also unhappy with the personal terms Southampton were proposing.

The parties are currently locked in negotiations as they look to thrash out terms on a potential deal.

Osvaldo may well be tempted on a move to the Premier League after seeing his Roma side miss out on qualification for European football.

He may decide to follow in the footsteps of Gaston Ramirez, who completed the journey from Serie A to Southampton last summer.

Bundesliga side Wolfsburg and Southampton’s Premier League rivals Fulham are also thought to be interested in Osvaldo.
