No more rift says goalie

Eugene Galekovic has confirmed the frustrations he vented at the end of last season have been sorted out.

After a 2-1 defeat to Brisbane Roar in the elimination final last year, Galekovic slammed the club saying they should “let football people make football decisions.

After the influx of a new coach and with the beginning of a pre-season under his belt, the keeper is content with the way things are going at Hindmarsh.

Speaking to Adelaide Now he said: “I’m happy with the coach (Josep Gombau) and looking forward to this season.

“I had a good chat with the coach yesterday and it’s all looking good and I’m happy to be back. Everyone hopes the club is going in the right direction.

‘’You can only worry about what you can do and I’m just worried about playing football.’’

The 32-year-old was given an extra two weeks holiday after playing in the EAFF Cup with the National squad.

Hopes are high at Adelaide this season, with new boss Josep Gombau’s tika-taka revolution taking shape, several players from European shores have swelled the ranks.

The Spaniard’s summer buys Include Sergio Cirio and Isaias Sanchez, both players who fit straight into Gombau’s Barcelona style mould.
