Top-flight duo have waited too long to make their move, and now it looks like being too late.

Check in to Transfer Window: Done Deal Alerts

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have suffered a blow after it emerged that Serie A champions Juventus are set to launch a bid for coveted Ajax playmaker Christian Eriksen, according to reports in the Daily Express.

Both Premier League giants have been keeping close tabs on the young Denmark international all summer long, with a view to bringing the 21-year-old to England during the close-season transfer window, although as yet still no deal has been agreed with either side.

And that has alerted the ‘Old Lady of Italian Football’, who are now set to steal a march on the duo by making their own move for the attacking midfield player.

Eriksen has been at the Amsterdam ArenA for his whole career to date, making his debut for the Eredivisie champions in January 2010 and in the intervening three-year period, the Dane has gone on to establish himself as being one of the most creative attackers plying their trade on the Continent.

In 160 matches overall in all competitions for Ajax, Eriksen has found the back of the net on 31 occasions, including 24 strikes in his 111 league contests for the club, form that has made the player one of the most sought after in Europe, with Turin now set to be his next location.
