Sources in Holland claim that young striker Uche Nwofor could be close to sealing a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle credited with interest in the Nigerian.

According to the Daily Express, the 21-year-old is highly rated in England and is seen as a similar type of player to Aston Villa hit-man Christian Benteke, who enjoyed a storming first season in English football last year.

Nwofor scored 10 times for current side VVV Venlo last season, though his performances could not help them escape relegation from the Dutch Eredivisie.

Having dropped to the second tier of Dutch football, Nwofor is keen to seal a move away, and won’t be short of suitors in the Premier League, with several sides looking at adding attacking players before the close of this summer’s transfer window.

Arsenal have been linked with some big-name strikers all summer, but have a tendancy to nurture young talent such as Nwofor, while Newcastle have also done well to bring in undiscovered players on the cheap in recent seasons.

Tottenham have sealed a big signing in Roberto Soldado from Valencia, but could still be short upfront if Jermain Defoe leaves the club for Queens Park Rangers.
