A big season ahead insists keeper

Melbourne Victory’s Nathan Coe is looking forward to successful season under the stewardship of Ange Postecoglou.

The 29-year-old keeper is hopeful if his side can iron out their defensive fragilities that they will be challenging for silverware.

Victory finished 3rd in last season’s campaign after suffering injuries to two key players, Gui Finkler and Adama Traore are both well on the way to recovery, with their return Coe believes the Dark Blues will have a fighting chance of silverware.

Speaking to Sportal he said: ” One of my reasons for coming to Melbourne was to win things and have a big part in doing that,”

“So, you know, last year we were all disappointed that we didn’t end up winning anything. I think this year is going to be a massive, massive year for us and we all are aiming to win something.

I wasn’t thrilled with how I played (in my first season), think I played well in some games, badly in others. So this year I want to be more consistent and I want to play at a higher level throughout the season.

Victory’s first game of the season will be against rivals Melbourne Heart.
