Brazilian insists there is still a lot of transfer window to go yet.

Check in to Transfer Window: Done Deal Alerts

QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar is staying positive that he can find a new club before the end of the transfer window despite a serious lack of activity so far, Sky Sports reports.

The Brazilian international had originally been linked with a return to Serie A as the likes of Fiorentina and Roma had previously shown an interest, just 12 months after he had originally left Italy for the Premier League.

However, relegation from the top flight has caused him to reassess his options as he still hopes to maintain his starting place in the national team ahead of the World Cup next summer.

Arsenal had been rumoured to be interested, but so far no deal has materialised and the 33-year-old has refused to speculate over where he could end up come September 2 and instead insisted that he remains fully focussed on Brazil’s friendly with Switzerland this week.

He told Globo Esporte: “I am still a Queens Park Rangers player. A lot can happen before the end of August.

“At the moment my focus is on the national team and I am looking forward to seeing my team-mates again.”
