Gunners must improve bid for Swans defender, striker not for sale.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger faces a challenge to land Swansea pair Ashley Williams and Michu, with the Welsh club asking for an improved offer for their captain, whilst insisting their top scorer last season is not for sale.

The Gunners have had a quiet transfer window so far this summer, but Wenger is determined to land a new addition upfront, seeing Michu as a good alternative to Liverpool star Luis Suarez.

However, according to the Daily Star, Laudrup has told Wenger not to bother trying to sign the free-scoring Spaniard, who is not for sale for any price.

The Arsenal boss has also been looking for defensive reinforcements, but has had an initial offer of £6million for Williams rejected by the Swans, according to the Daily Mirror.

Supposedly, a bid of £12million could be enough to land the Wales international, who has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium for much of the last few months, whilst also interesting his former manager Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool.

But Swansea won’t let their best players go easily, and have shown plenty of ambition in the transfer market this summer with some high-quality additions in Jonjo Shelvey and Wilfried Bony.
