Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has said that he and the rest of the squad will welcome controversial striker Luis Suarez back to the club with open arms after reports emerged that he could be set to stay, the Daily Mail reports.

However, the story appears to be a fabrication, and Suarez is still very much interested in securing a move away from the club this summer, despite manager Brendan Rodgers and owner John W Henry both stating that he is not for sale.

And though Suarez may be risking the wrath of club’s fans, his teammate Jordan Henderson has intimated that there will be no hard feelings from any of the playing staff if he eventually returns to first team action.

“Things like that happen in football and hopefully we can keep Luis and he can be fantastic like he has been for the last few years,” said Henderson.

“There will be no problems with the lads. We know he has been brilliant for us for the last few years and I’m sure if he stays he will carry on doing that and it will not affect his football one little bit.”
