Unsettled striker still holding out hope for exit.
Liverpool striker and Arsenal target Luis Suarez is still hoping for a late exit from the club this summer, according to Sports Direct News.
The Uruguayan has been the centre of a summer-long transfer row after trying to force through a move to Liverpool’s rivals Arsenal, but appeared to have resolved his problems with the club after returning to training today and apologising to his team-mates and manager.
However, while he may accept he has to stay at Anfield for another season, he is still holding out hope that Arsenal will make an improved offer of around £50million to Liverpool which will see him get his wish of playing Champions League football.
Suarez was one of the best players in the Premier League last season, finishing just behind Manchester United’s Robin van Persie in the scoring charts, and putting in some memorable displays.
Arsenal emerged as surprise contenders for his signature last month, with the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus widely expected to come in with big-money offers for the former Ajax star.
It is unclear whether the Gunners will try again for the 26-year-old, as they may have turned their attention to Swansea City’s prolific Spanish forward Michu.
