Stamford Bridge side keen on Borussia Dortmund defender.
Chelsea are said to be considering launching a bid to sign Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels according to Sports Direct News.
The 24 year old German international is the latest star of Jurgen Klopp’s squad to be linked with an exit from the club, the likes of Nuri Sahin, Shinji Kagawa and Mario Gotze all leaving in recent seasons, and Jose Mourinho is keen to beef up his back-line.
Man United and Barcelona are both also said to be interested in the £22m rated centre-back but Mourinho may struggle to persuade Hummels to leave the Westfalenstadion who he has helped to two Bundesliga titles.
Mourinho has a fair few central defensive options at present with the likes of Gary Cahill, John Terry, Branislav Ivanovic and David Luiz in the Blues boss’s armoury, that said Hummels is considered one of the most dependable centre-backs in world football.
Hummels has made 196 appearances for Borussia Dortmund and has formed a solid pairing with Serbian international Neven Subotic.
