Man United boss David Moyes insists that new signings are on their way and the Metro claim that the Premier League title holders are readying moves for a trio of top talents.

Having failed to bring in Thiago Alcantara and Cesc Fabregas Moyes is keen to bring in the first high profile signings of his Old Trafford reign is set to lodge a £40m bid for Everton pair Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines, a move that his former employers at Goodison Park will not be happy with.

The duo were both in action as Everton started their season with an entertaining draw against Norwich City.

Moyes has talked up the prospect of imminent arrivals stating;

‘I’m confident we’ll have players in soon,’ he said.

‘We’re involved in several players we’re looking at and that will continue. Will we get them before the deadline? I hope so, but we’re working very hard to do so.’

The new Man United boss has been given an £80m transfer war-chest and the Scot may well feel the need to invest in his squad as they push to retain the Premier League title and mount a Champions League assault.

As well as targeting the Toffees pair Moyes is also said to be interested in Real Madrid playmaker Mesut Ozil.

David Moyes will be pleased to have got his tenure as Man United boss to a great start, with a 4-1 win away at Swansea City, all the more so as troubled striker Wayne Rooney also got a run out.
