Real Madrid star would consider Old Trafford switch.
Unsettled Real Madrid star Mesut Ozil is said to be interested in a move to Manchester United, according to the Daily Mail.
Speculation has risen over the last couple of days that United manager David Moyes will take his search for a new midfielder to the Bernabeu, after missing out on the likes of Thiago Alcantara and Cesc Fabregas.
The Scot is keen to find a long-term replacement in midfield for the retiring Paul Scholes, but has been unsuccessful in his hunt so far this summer, with the end of the transfer window fast approaching.
Ozil is not his only target, with team-mates Luka Modric and Kaka also on Moyes’ list, though the German feels it may be time to move on from the club with their well-documented pursuit of Tottenham’s Gareth Bale.
The former Werder Bremen attacker is not confident of keeping his first-team place if Bale arrives, and would welcome the opportunity to join the Premier League champions, after nearly signing for them in 2010.
Winger Angel Di Maria is another player who may request a transfer if a deal for Bale comes through, and he too has been linked with a switch to the Premier League for much of the summer, with Manchester City and Tottenham monitoring his situation.
