Liverpool are set to make a move for Internacional striker Leandro Damiao, with manager Brendan Rodgers still worried that Luis Suarez could leave the club, the Daily Mirror reports.

Arsenal are still interested in signing Suarez and could make one final bid of £50 million to try and tempt the striker to the Emirates.

Also, Manchester United and Tottenham have entered the race to sign Liverpool’s main transfer target, Willian, who has been put up for transfer by his club Anzhi Makhachkala due to their difficult financial situation.

With the Reds chances of signing Willian diminishing, Rodgers may have to look elsewhere if he wants to bolster his attacking options before the transfer window closes.

The Liverpool boss has the funds to make a marquee signing and is now looking at alternatives should the deal to sign Willian fall through.

Brazilian front-man Leandro Damiao is believed to be on the list of alternatives.

Spurs have long been interested in signing Damiao but have struggled to reach an agreement with Internacional.

Damiao is still interested in a move to Europe and could be persuaded to join Liverpool if the Reds can agree a fee with Internacional.
