Arsenal could be set to hold talks in Spain over the possible transfer of 26-year-old goalkeeper Vicente Guaita, according to Spanish news source SuperDeporte.es.

The Gunners are keen to bring in a new goalkeeper this summer after some poor form from Wojciech Szczesny for much of last season, and the continued injury problems of backup shot stopper Lukasz Fabianski.

The club have been linked with the likes of Julio Cesar and Asmir Begovic at points this summer, but Arsene Wenger seems keen to go for a more low-key option once again with the signing of Guaita.

The Spaniard has been with Valencia for his whole career so far, aside from a season on loan with Recreativo, though he has not always been a regular for the side, and appears to have fallen behind Brazilian Diego Alves in the pecking order.  The club are keen for him to sign a new contract, but he is supposedly considering his options after hearing about interest from Arsenal.

Arsenal have also been linked with Valencia defender Adil Rami at points this summer, though they appear to have turned their attention towards Swansea City centre-back Ashley Williams in a bid to boost their defence.
