Liverpool defender Daniel Agger says he is committed to the club and that he has not even thought about leaving the club for Barcelona, the Daily Mirror reports.

The Danish centre-back has been the subject of some transfer speculation this summer, with La Liga giants Barcelona supposedly seeing him as a decent alternative to their main target, David Luiz of Chelsea.

Manchester City have also been rumoured to be monitoring Agger’s situation, but the 28-year-old has reaffirmed his love for the Anfield club, saying that the lack of Champions League football is not his biggest concern. He even gave his ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ tattoo as an example of his true love for the Reds.

“Barcelona are obviously a big club, but I have never thought about leaving Liverpool, unless they want to sell,” he said.

“Everyone at the club is an integral part of my life.

“I have a YNWA tattoo!

“Frankly I don’t mind if we don’t finish in the top four, I love the club.”

Liverpool arguably look in the best shape to mount a serious top four challenge this year than they have for a long time, with some exciting new signings brought in, as well as holding on to key players such as Agger and Luis Suarez.

They could still strengthen further, with the club being linked strongly with £30million Anzhi Makhachkala forward Willian.
