The Tigers are still involved in both domestic Cup competitions too, with semi-final clashes with Albirex Niigita and Home United to look forward to respectively.

Speaking to Fox Sports Asia. Stewart reiterated his burning desire for silverware: “If I could bring silverware to this club, it could be my greatest achievement in football.

“Even including what I achieved during my playing days.

“People can talk about what I’ve done at the club since arriving but I just sit back and watch the players do what they do their jobs. They deserve the credit.”

The Australian also praised the club’s Chairman: “Also, the board deserve so much credit for all they’ve given me. If I manage to give a trophy to Thava, that would be huge.

“He’s never said no to me once and he’s been so supportive; he’s just been the best chairman anyone could ask for.”
