Arsenal have been handed the boost that Bacary Sagna, Kieran Gibbs, Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey and Tomas Rosicky trained as normal on Tuesday, as they prepare for a crucial Champions League qualifier on Wednesday evening.

Sky Sports confirmed that the players were fit enough to train and could be in contention for a place in the starting lineup as Arsene Wenger takes his struggling side to a difficult away game in Turkey.

Sagna and Gibbs were particular worries for the manager, as both went off injured in the team’s 3-1 opening day defeat at home to Aston Villa, with Sagna lucky to escape a serious neck injury after an awkward fall.

A lack of cover for these players at the back has seen the Gunners linked strongly with the likes of Ashley Williams and Micah Richards in the transfer market, as Wenger is concerned about his options in defence.

Arsenal are still awaiting news on the injury sustained by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, which some reports have claimed could keep him out for as long as six months, which would see him miss the vast majority of the season.

Arsenal’s difficult start to the season could turn into a nightmare if they fall to defeat in the first leg of their Champions League qualifier.
