Barcelona could become the latest club to join the chase for unsettled Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas, according to the Daily Express.

The 32-year-old has been with the Bernabeu club for his entire career after coming through the ranks at the club, and holds legendary status after becoming one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

However, after a fall-out with former manager Jose Mourinho last season, Casillas was dropped to the bench for a large chunk of the campaign in favour of Diego Lopez. Somewhat surprisingly, this trend looks set to continue under new manager Carlo Ancelotti, who picked Lopez ahead of Casillas in his side’s opening match of La Liga against Real Betis.

This has triggered interest from Premier League trio Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, though it has now emerged that Real’s arch rivals Barcelona could also make a shock move to sign him.

Barca have been linked with several goalkeepers this summer following the news that Victor Valdes wants to leave the club, though they missed out on one of their top targets, with Liverpool ‘keeper Pepe Reina joining Italian side Napoli on loan.

Casillas would no doubt be a great coup for the Spanish champions, though a highly controversial move given the intense rivalry between the two clubs.
