Premier League champions Manchester United are preparing a new £35 million bid for Everton pair Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The Red Devils have already seen their first attempts to bring the duo to Old Trafford fail, with their recent initial offer rejected out of hand by the Toffees, whose head coach Roberto Martinez described the joint bid as “insulting”.

However, that setback has seemingly not put new United boss David Moyes off from returning to Merseyside in another effort to land the coveted duo, both of who the Scot signed for Everton while he was in charge of the club before his departure to United earlier this summer.

And now United will offer their rivals £20m for the Belgium international, which is still a figure below Everton’s own valuation of a midfield player who has scored 32 goals in his 174 appearances for the Toffees since he joined the club five years ago.

Meanwhile, Moyes is also prepared to bid £15m for left-back Baines, with the England international having netted 22 strikes in his 247 matches for Everton since 2007, although that is also a figure way below what the Toffees’ value the 28-year-old at.
