Galatasaray have reportedly made a bid of £10million for Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel, according to talkSPORT, who claim that Napoli are also monitoring his situation.

The Nigerian international has been at Stamford Bridge for almost his entire senior career, having joined the club in controversial circumstances in 2006 after supposedly agreeing to join Manchester United.

Mikel has gone on to become a key player for the Blues, but manager Jose Mourinho is seemingly on the lookout for more well-rounded and complete midfield players, having been linked with the likes of Daniele De Rossi and Sami Khedira.

Chelsea’s interest in a new signing could mean Mikel is allowed to leave, and a bid of £10million may be sufficient to prise him away from Stamford Bridge.

Galatasaray have signed a couple of big name players in recent months, with former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba and former Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder joining the club in January, and they have targeted more high-profile signings this summer.

Meanwhile, Napoli see Mikel as a decent alternative to Javier Mascherano and Lucas Leiva, with manager Rafael Benitez keen to be reunited with his former players to shore up his new side’s midfield.
