When your team is making a push for the playoffs you need to keep up support, which is why Dallas have devised a clever venture for selling tickets.

FC Dallas’ FC Dallas Stadium holds an impressive 20,000 fans. What’s even more impressive is that so far the side have managed to pack in an average of 16,000 fans every week as they make a push to cement a Western Conference playoff spot. In fact, their 12 per cent increase in average attendance since 2011 is a league high.

Keeping up the support is vital, which is why Dallas management concocted a clever plan to sell tickets for Saturday’s MLS matchup against conference rivals San Jose Earthquakes, who sit just three points behind them.

Before their midweek clash against Chivas USA, FC Dallas posted this to their official Facebook page:

An incredibly generous offer – for once, Dallas fans might have been hoping that their side held back a little against struggling Chivas.

In the end the fans got the best of both worlds as their side ran out comfortable 3-1 winners.

An early goal from Chivas’ Bryan de la Fuente may have had Dallas momentarily worried, but late goals from Blas Perez, David Ferreira and Ramon Nunez saw their side through. A sending off for Jackson in the 85th minute didn’t even faze the Texans, as they went on to end their staggering 11-game run without a win.

Perez’s 71st minute strike means that the lucky Dallas fans will now get a staggering 71 per cent off of tickets for their next game:
